Review: CE- Mudra

Posted By admin on July 7, 2015 7:17pm

“Mudra” by CE is a visually striking music video with soul. I really enjoyed “Mudra” for its stunning use of light and song. The video is an experiment with synesthesia, the mixing of senses like sight and sound. The timbre and beat of the music in the video is well punctuated with shades of blue and purple. This use of color intensified the music, making it sound bluesy in some parts, and tender in others.
The singer adds to the mellow, expressive quality of the video. He is able to add emotion to the lyrics of the song, without moving or interacting too much. This keeps the video and music captivating but not excessive. The video is kept minimalistic, in order to place an emphasis on song and light. While the video is simple, its style and emotional feel will leave a lasting impression on any viewer. “Mudra” by CE is an official selection of the New York City Independent Film Festival and will be shown at the festival on October 12-18, 2015.
