Dia Seis (Day Six) tells the story of the unrequited love between two individuals, trapped by their feelings and their built personas. When Carmen suddenly learns that she faces a life-threatening disease, she makes the decision to break free of those restraints and embark on a trip to the coast. Dia Seis is a sensual and slow-moving experience, highlighted by standout performances from the movie’s two main stars. The elegant, yet muted cinematography is wonderful to watch, and captures the raw emotions of the lovers in what may be their last moments with each other. While love and sex lie at the heart of the film, Dia Seis is also about the journey of rediscovery – about coming to terms with our selves, even if in the final stages of our lives.
Dia Seis is an official selection of the New York City Independent Film Festival, actor Abril Cira won 2017 Best Actress for her portrayal of Carmen.
