Tayos (Ecuador, Spain | 2017, 1 hour 25 min)

Directed by: Miguel Garzon

On August 1st, 1976, Neil Armstrong, the first man to step foot on the Moon, joined a British-Ecuadorian expedition whose mission was to explore a cave located deep in the Amazon forest, called Tayos Cave. Why was a mission of such magnitude organized, and what could be the British interest in the cave? This is the story of how Tayos Cave obtained worldwide renown, and why, many decades later, it continues to inspire passion, conflict and interest. A group of geologists and members of esoteric disciplines penetrate Tayos' massive underworld to shed light on the cave's legends, including the alleged existence of the remains of an extinguished civilization, or even the presence of beings from outer space. Their antagonistic views on the same reality will help us understand the opposing tendencies within us, and the way we perceive our world.
