Peter Westbrook

The Peter Westbrook Foundation was started in 1991 by six time Olympic fencer and 1984 bronze medalist Peter Westbrook. Peter himself grew up in the housing projects of Newark, New Jersey, and through the sport of fencing he was able to escape a life of drugs and violence. For nineteen years Peter has been teaching fencing to kids from underprivileged communities in order to give them the same opportunities he was blessed with. By combining rigorous athletic training with tutoring and classroom education, the Peter Westbrook Foundation has produced many Olympians and Olympic medalists, and is changing the lives of hundreds of children every year. This film tells Peter\'s story and the story of the foundation through interviews with him, his athletes, and his most accomplished fencers.
